Duo Bonfanti

Marco and Stefano Bonfanti both graduated with full marks from the G. Verdi Conservatory of Como, where they studied with Massimo Laura. Since the beginning of their studies, they formed a duo, raising up the enthusiasm of both audience and press.

From 1990, the brothers have given numerous recitals for important musical Institutions, in Italy and abroad (Spain, Swizzerland, French, Polish, etc.), performing in prestigious theatres and concert-halls.

They are prize-winners in several national and international competitions: IV Certament International "Vila de L'Olleria" (Spain), “Mauro Giuliani” of Bari, “Ebe Cazzaniga Ansalone” of Abbiategrasso, International Competitions of Isernia, Savona and Gorizia, “Rospigliosi” of Pistoia, Voghera, Castelfidardo, “Yamaha Music Foundation” Competition.

At the same time the duo practiced the Soloist Triennial Course at the Musikhochschule of Lugano (with Massimo Laura), obtaining the “Solistendiplom”; moreover they followed masterclasses and courses with Oscar Ghiglia, Alberto Ponce, Pavel Steidel, Carlo Marchione, Eduardo Fernandez, Paolo Pegoraro and Stefano Viola at the "Tarrega Academy" in Pordenone.

They’ve collaborated with several chamber groups and with prestigious orchestras like the orchestra of the Radio Svizzera Italiana (recorded by RSI), the orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan (conducted by Riccardo Muti), the Sinfonic Orchestra of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the orchestra of the CSI in Lugano, the Ensemble 440, etc.

Recently they recorded for the MAP record company of Milan, a CD with compositions from the XIX century, originally for guitar duo.

They teach classical guitar at the Istituto Pareggiato “Puccini” in Gallarate and also at the Civic Music School of Cinisello Balsamo. Website
