Catherine Morgan was one of the first leaders of the National Children’s Orchestra, and returned as violin coach in 2001. She studied at Oxford University and the Royal College of Music with Rodney Friend, and with Ruggiero Ricci in England and Salzburg- generously supported by many scholarship and competition funds including the Countess of Munster Musical Trust and the Manoug Parikian memorial violin prize. She made her South Bank Debut in London as a Park Lane Series artist, and her radio debut with a live solo recital for Classic FM. Catherine has appeared as soloist with orchestras in Britain and abroad, including a tour of Japan with the London Chamber Orchestra. In 1998 her CD titled ‘Angelic’ was released as a special product for Debenhams Ltd . Catherine is a member of the Academy of St Martins in the Fields, and leader of the new Wakeford Ensemble.
