Dance First

Activities

Most of the Club’s activities take place at the Regis School of Music, 46, Sudley Road, Bognor Regis PO21 1ER      Occasionally we invited to perform or take part in Festivals at different venues, and this will always be announced in our Diary

PROFESSIONAL RECITALS

Every year, the Club organises up to six professional recitals performed by internationally acclaimed artists, as well as gifted young professionals of a new generation. Performances include solos, guitar duos, trios, quartets and even guitar with other instruments. All concerts are open to the general public and take place on Saturday evenings at 7.30pm. Members of the club can enjoy tickets at reduced rates. For details of forthcoming recitals, please see our Diary where you can also reserve tickets.

CLUB EVENINGS

These are held throughout the year on Saturday evenings at 7:30pm. Club evenings typically start with an all-join-in orchestra, followed by performances by our junior members. After a break for a buffet supper and drinks, the evening continues with performances by adult members, playing in the club's orchestras, small ensembles and solos. Playing continues for as long as enthusiasm lasts! Please see our Diary for full details.

CLUB ORCHESTRA AND ENSEMBLE

The Club’s own “West Sussex Guitar Club Orchestra” is for more capable (Grade V & above) guitarists. The Orchestra has regular rehearsals and is conducted by the highly experienced teacher and talented guitarist Linda Kelsall-Barnett. We also have a very popular guitar ensemble “Guitar Harmony” comprising less advanced players which is coached by another excellent guitarist and teacher Andrew Richardson. Both groups rehearse regularly and perform at Club evenings and in guitar festivals. Both the Orchestra and the Ensemble welcome new players.

Both festivals include separate sections for Junior and Senior entrants and are open to all players from beginners to the most advanced. The adjudicators are usually world-renowned professional guitarists. For further details, and how to enter, please see our Festivals page.
