Professional Concert Irina Kulikova

Irina Kulikova is an internationally acclaimed classical guitarist known for the beauty of her sound and her enchanting stage presence. Her innate raw talent was first nurtured by her cellist mother at the age of 5 when she began learning the guitar and piano and she then continued her studies with  composer and guitarist Victor Kozlov.

She is a laureate of numerous prizes and competitions, culminating in first prize in five prestigious international competitions in 2008. She graduated with distinction from the Gnessins Academy in Moscow, the Mozarteum University in Austria and the Conservatoire of Maastricht.

She wrote her thesis 'The Mystery of Sound and the Wholeness of the Artist : A Multidisciplinary Introduction to a better stage performance' to assist musicians deal with nerves and lapses in  memory.

She sees one of her roles as a musician is to make people happy after  hearing her play and her motto in life and music is 'It's about the touch. If you pay love and devotion to whatever you do in life, you will touch the lives of others in ways you can never predict'.

Following on from Irina's outstanding concert at West Dean in 1997 when she was only 15 years old, Sasha Levtov organised a concert a week later for the WSGC where she played to a capacity audience at the Regis School of Music. We hope that you can join us to once again hear this remarkable guitarist.
